Sam chose a very unique paint scheme for his Modern Classic along with a full Campy Super Record kit and a Silca pump painted to match.

My Modern Classic teardrop details are tucked away all over this build.

A ball bearing for a pump peg, just like we did in my years at Serotta. Polished stainless top tube lug and a Cane Creek 110 headset rounds out the head tube.

Gotta get that Campy logo just right on the rear brake line!

Sam runs his brakes moto-style (right front, left rear), so I put the internal brake port on the driveside so the housing would swoop around the head tube instead of rubbing against it. The details make all the difference on a custom build!

More teardrops on my signature sleeved stainless seatstays, and some luscious paintwork by Velocolour.

Even the waterbottle mounts get stainless reinforcing stars.

Braze on front derailleur mount is polished stainless and masked for maximum durability and no chipped paint.

Another teardrop on the down tube lug and a painted window on the fork crown.

The sleeved seatstays are such a fun detail that gives a perfect transition from polished stainless to paint.

One more teardrop hiding behind that Campy crank!

My signature Ellis dropouts and Campy’s Maximum Smoothness go great together.
